Zugdidi itself is small: the Dadiani Palace with its park and the centre can be seen in a few hours. The town is usually treated as a staging point.
The main reason to rent here is the trip to Svaneti. The drive to Mestia takes 3-4 hours, and with your own car you can stop at viewpoints and the Enguri reservoir.
